Born in Madrid in 1961, in the emblematic district of Chamberí, he showed a strong artistic inclination from an early age, receiving annual awards in drawing during his school years.
At the age of fourteen, he began studying under painter Rogelio García Vázquez, specializing in oil painting. He later continued his artistic education at the Madrid School of Arts preparing for entrance to the Faculty of Fine Arts.
In 1984, he entered the field of advertising, where he developed a distinguished career as a freelance airbrush illustrator for leading agencies such as Lintas Worldwide, McCann-Erickson, Tiempo/BBDO, Young & Rubicam, and Delvico/Bates. During this period, he created numerous illustrations for major advertising campaigns for brands like Gillette, Coca-Cola, Renault, Jaguar, Mercedes, Volvo Trucks, Equity & Law, and Alfa Romeo, while also teaching airbrushing at the Centro de Estudios Visuales (CEV) in Madrid.
In 1987, he moved to the United States and settled in San Francisco, where he came into contact with prominent artists and institutions such as Thomas Blackshear, Industrial Light & Magic (George Lucas), and the Disney studios in Los Angeles. In 1993, he was honored by the U.S. magazine Airbrush Action with an Award in the Seventh Annual Airbrush Excellence Competition for his illustration “Alfa Romeo”.
By the late 1990s, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, and later to New York, where his portrait portfolio was selected by the gallery Portraits, Inc. and he was subsequently represented by Portrait Brokers of America. His exceptional talent earned him an O-1 visa, granted exclusively to individuals of extraordinary ability. In 2002, he received an Award from the Portrait Society of Atlanta, Inc. for his portrait Girl with Ponytail (2002, Lodisse Family Collection).
His work is part of numerous private collections in the United States and Spain, including those of Kim McQuilken, Evelyn & Barrett Carter, E. Neville Isdell, Cara Anne Modisett, William “Woody” Faulk, Robert Caldwell, Ignacio Taboada, Fernando Escarpa del Castillo, and Antonio Buades de Armenteras.
After residing again in California between 2007 and 2010, he returned to Spain, where he currently lives and works in the Retiro district of Madrid.
Nacido en Madrid en 1961, en el emblemático distrito de Chamberí, mostró desde muy joven una destacada inclinación artística, siendo premiado anualmente en la categoría de dibujo durante su etapa escolar.
A los catorce años inicia su formación con el pintor Rogelio García Vázquez, especializándose en la técnica del óleo. Posteriormente amplía su aprendizaje en la Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Madrid, orientando su preparación al ingreso en la Facultad de Bellas Artes.
En 1984 se adentra en el mundo de la publicidad, donde desarrolla una destacada trayectoria como ilustrador de aerógrafo freelance para agencias como Lintas Worldwide, McCann-Erickson, Tiempo/BBDO, Young & Rubicam o Delvico/Bates. Durante este periodo realiza numerosas ilustraciones para campañas de marcas como Gillette, Coca-Cola, Renault, Jaguar, Mercedes, Volvo Trucks, Equity & Law o Alfa Romeo, además de impartir clases de aerografía en el Centro de Estudios Visuales (CEV) de Madrid.
En 1987 viaja a Estados Unidos y se establece en San Francisco, donde entra en contacto con reconocidos artistas e instituciones como Thomas Blackshear, Industrial Light & Magic (George Lucas) y los estudios Disney en Los Ángeles. En 1993 es galardonado por la revista estadounidense Airbrush Action con un Award en la Seventh Annual Airbrush Excellence Competition por su ilustración “Alfa Romeo”.
A finales de los años noventa se traslada a Atlanta (Georgia) y posteriormente a Nueva York, donde es seleccionado por la galería Portraits, Inc. y contratado por Portrait Brokers of America. Gracias a su talento, obtiene una visa de artista O-1, reservada a profesionales con habilidades extraordinarias. Durante su estancia en Estados Unidos, su obra es reconocida por la Portrait Society of Atlanta, Inc., que le concede un Award por el retrato Girl with Ponytail (2002, Lodisse Family Collection).
Su trabajo forma parte de colecciones privadas en Estados Unidos y España, entre ellas las colecciones Kim McQuilken, Evelyn & Barrett Carter, E. Neville Isdell, Cara Anne Modisett, William “Woody” Faulk, Robert Caldwell, Ignacio Taboada, Fernando Escarpa del Castillo y Antonio Buades de Armenteras.
Tras residir nuevamente en California entre 2007 y 2010, regresa a España y establece su residencia en el distrito de Retiro, en Madrid, donde continúa desarrollando su obra pictórica.
